About George Champion Modern Shop
George Champion was a private dealer
of midcentury modern furniture when he had his first public
design showcase in 1996. The annual event developed a following among
modern furniture collectors and design enthusiasts in Connecticut and
beyond.
In 2004, the gallery was
moved to a new space on Woodbury's "Antiques Row" and renamed the
Modern Shop. The shop continues to feature modern design
from the 1920s to the present.
